The “Class Participation” grade is worth 20% of your course grade. Part of this grade is determined by your participation in asynchronous, online homework activities (Discussion Forums and Quizzes via Canvas). Another part of this grade is determined by your participation in our on-campus class meetings. For the first three weeks of class, we will have one or two Discussion Forums and/or Quizzes per week, which will be announced at the beginning of each week. These Participation assignments are due each Friday evening by 11:59 pm. If you miss a Discussion Forum or Quiz, you may make it up by contributing to one of our optional discussion board forums and/or our optional “Word of the Week / Quotation of the Week / Meme of the Week” discussion board activity. Beginning in week four, you can also use the optional “Word of the Week / Quotation of the Week / Meme of the Week” assignment (submitted on notebook paper) to make up for missed course activities.
